A Good Deed
I need to give kudos to the Winchester Police Department. The chief himself is out every morning directing traffic at the high school along with another officer. I have seen them out in pouring rain and frigid snow and I have no doubt that they will be out sweating this summer. If they weren’t directing the traffic entering and leaving the high school, I can’t even imagine how many wrecks there would be. We only have one high school so that means there are a lot of kids and a lot of traffic. Not to mention all the teens who have just gotten their license to drive. They really scare me sometimes!
I don’t think this is necessarily part of their jobs either. I know that they have to direct traffic if a light goes out or there is a wreck, but I don’t think they have to be out at the high school every day. I really believe that they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. I know that I’m not the only one that appreciates it :)

Well...Surprise, surprise, I'm here two days in a row! I know one of the large Baptist churches hires the police each week to direct traffic before and after their Sunday services. It's a madhouse with all the cars needing in and out of the lot, and there's no turn lane on the road. It's great the police pitch in and help like that.

Wow! That is cool that a church is so big that it has to hire the police!

Yes, it's great seeing the church doing so well. Their youth is very active, too. They have a big multi-purpose building for concerts and stuff, too.
