Hectic

Okay GW you got me! Here you’ve been a good girl making sure that you keep updated on your blogs while I totally ignored the computer this weekend. I didn’t mean to and I didn’t want to, but this was THE busiest weekend that we’ve had in forever.

Friday night my sister, her husband, and my aunt went to see The Passion of The Christ leaving my parents to baby sit the twins. Since they baby sit literally every night, I thought it would be nice if we went over to their house to help. We ended up staying there until the movie was over and they had come home. By then it was going on 10:00, so we came home and watched TV shows as a family that we had taped.

Saturday, my parents took us to a salvage warehouse where everything is incredibly cheap. We bought new handles, still in the package, for the kitchen doors and drawers (currently we have none) for only $1 each. Normally these would sell for $3 at a regular “home” store. We only spent just over $25 for all the handles we’ll need.

When we got back home we had to do the grocery shopping. Luckily I had made out a list Friday afternoon, so I knew exactly what we needed. Once we got home, after rushing to put everything away, we quickly dressed to go see the musical Oklahoma! at Leeds Center for the Arts here in Winchester. Never having seen the movie, I had no idea what to even expect. The play started at 8:00, so we decided that we would go out to eat afterwards. Boy, were we wrong! Little did we know that this was a three hour play!!! We came straight home right afterwards and it was almost 11:30. Ashley had a bowl of Fruit Loops cereal for dinner!

I have to say though, the play was wonderful. The singers/actors have amazing talent and should definitely pursue careers, not just locally, but on a bigger scale. The scenery was remarkable as were the costumes. Plus, it’s a great story! Now, I’ll have to rent the movie.

Today was my dad’s 52nd birthday, so after church we invited the family over to celebrate by having a cookout. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, deviled eggs, baked beans, and potato chips. The weather was perfect and climbed over 60 degrees; almost unheard of considering it is the end of February! We had cake and ice cream and then it was time to go back to church. Ashley sang in front of the church with the praise group. There were about ten of them altogether and they did an impressive job. They sang two upbeat songs to start off the service and get us in the mood. It was a fun time!
So, here I am now. The weekend is over and I am tired. We accomplished a lot, I just know that Kevin and I didn’t get that personal time that we normally enjoy on the weekends. There was no movie renting and we really didn’t get to just put our feet up. Maybe next weekend ….

By the way, GW, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU!!! You’ll have to post about where you went in Columbus. Kevin lived there for a little while when he was going to DeVry, but I have never been.

Tami,
I can't believe you have never saw Oklahoma, Did you like? It is one of my favorite musicals. Tell Ashley that she did a wonderful job at church last night. It hard to believe she is so big. Time has shore flew by. I remember when Andrew was a year old. Now he is a handsome man. I almost cried watching Ashley up there singing, just knowing that she getting to be such a little lady. I thought about calling and leaving a message to your dad and singing happy birthday, but I changed my mind. Jennifer said that he would have liked it. What was the name of the place that you went to to get the handles? I'm sure my mom would be interested. love ya, Chas

I love hearing from you Chastity :) We got the door handles in a warehouse on Anglianna Avenue (I'm not sure how to spell it) in Lexington. The name of the place is Salvage Building Management. They have beds that would knock your eyes out. If I had a bigger house would consider buying one! They also have materials you would need to redo your bathroom or kitchen like cabinets, countertops with sinks, mirrors, and TONS of other stuff.
Time does fly by when you have kids. I'm still amazed that Andrew is taller than me!!!

I should have also mentioned that this warehouse is almost impossible to find unless you are following someone. If your parents wanted to follow my parents over there sometime, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Hey! Wow, I guess you have an excuse for not updating your blog! Thanks for the anniversary wishes - I can't believe it's been so long already.

This salvage store has BEDS? Oh, man. I want to get us a real king-size frame and headboard, not just some headboard that bolts onto the frame and wobbles all over the place. I've seen some on Ikea's website I really like...We even thought of driving to their Pittsburg store some day when we can get one.

Boy, I'm rambling. Must be bedtime!

These beds look antique. I would say the headboards are close to 8 feet high. They are beautiful! You would need a big house to have one of these beds. We have a regular ranch style house, so these beds just wouldn't fit in, but boy were they pretty :)
