David Brent

If you have never watched The Office on BBC, you might want to skip this post :)

Who knew that the second season of The Office was out on DVD?! I had no idea! I own the first season on DVD and I just remembered a nifty little English dictionary that came with it! Yesterday, Edward said that a “git” had erased all of his comments. I wonder now if that word is in The Office English dictionary. I’ll be right back …

Ah ha! I found it! It’s in the section entitled “Slough Slang”. There are two columns. The first column gives the British term and the second column gives the American Translation. Now, I know most of these words just because I watch A LOT of BBC America, but “git” is not one of them. Let’s see, git is a term meaning idiot, contemptible person. Used in a playful way to insult someone.

Let me explain, when I went to Edward’s site yesterday, someone had erased all of his comments and entry’s so he called them a git. I knew pretty much what the word meant, but I was thinking it was somewhat meaner. It looks as though Edward has gotten everything back now. Maybe one of his friends was playing a joke. He has since deleted the “git” entry, so don’t go looking for it. Even if it was a joke, if someone had done that to my blog, I would have cried my eyes out. People have no idea the effort that goes into a blog.

Anyway, back to what I was saying. Now I’ll have to look around for the second season. I bought the first one from Amazon.com because no one around here had it! I personally think it’s one of the funniest shows on TV and I am so sad that there won’t be any new shows made! Poor Dawn really messed things up with Tim, didn’t she? And why in the world let Gareth have the promotion? If Tim were leaving I would understand, but he didn’t say that he was leaving did he? Why would anyone want to have Gareth over him? And David … what WILL become of David? I love David, I really do. He’s so out of touch with reality!

They are supposed to be doing an American version soon. I just know that it won’t be near as funny. I don’t even know if I should watch it.

i was the one that emptied his blog. i kept a backup, so dont worry. it was meant as a friendly but stern "wake-up" call about how unsecure his blog was.

I would say that we could all use that wake up call! I don't back up anything like I should. I'm sure I'll regret it one of these days.
