It Was Lost On Me
When you hear a movie mentioned over and over on television at the Academy Awards show and how great it was, it just makes you want to see it. Today Kevin and I watched Lost in Translation. I have to say right here that Bill Murray was nominated for best actor in a leading role. This movie was also nominated for its directing, best original screenplay, and best picture. So what do I know?
Let me tell you what I know. I know that somebody got drunk and watched this movie and then nominated it for a bunch of awards. I also know that this is THE WORST movie Kevin and I have ever watched together. Yes, people it was THAT bad. There was no story as far as I could tell. The scenes seemed to crawl along. At one point Kevin and I had a good laugh as we both discovered that we were counting down the minutes left! It’s pretty sad when you can’t wait for it to be over. The only reason we watched it all is because we paid money to rent it. Sometimes you just can’t trust The Academy. The only good thing about this movie is that it wasn’t over two hours!

Just come back from the staffroom (prep. period if you're wondering how I am able to be reading your page during a working day- much better than doing prep!!!)and everyone was raving about Love Actually. This is next on my list for hiring.

Most teachers here in the states get at least an hour a day for a "planning period". While the children are in other classes like physical education, library, or music the teachers can grade papers, plan, etc.

Haven't seen this one yet, but your reaction sounds like the one we had to "Random Hearts" with Harrison Ford. Oh. My. Gosh. That was THE worst, pointless waste of time.
