Bad Lines
Back in August we were having phone troubles. You could pick up the phone and hear other peoples conversations and likewise they could hear ours. Now, the phone is dead. We have no dial tone, we aren’t able to call out, and no one can call us. This happened several times last week. When we called to report the problem, the phone company promptly called us back which somehow reset the line. The representative from the phone company was very nice and said that she would send us an email with directions to follow if this were to happen again. She said, “You can reset your own phone, but if we have to get someone over there it will cost you.” I agreed that doing it ourselves was much better. Free is good.
As it turns out the FREE way hasn’t done a bit of good. We did everything that was in our power to reset our phones. Nothing works. So, over the weekend I put in two repair notices over the Internet. This is how I notified them before. We have yet to have anyone get in touch with us. I gave them my cell phone number and Kevin’s. For some reason, they don’t like returning calls to a cell phone, but if that’s all you have then who’s to complain?
I called Kevin at work (from one cell to another) and gave him the phone company’s repair number and the case number that was given to me in email. Hopefully things will get straightened out TODAY. I had honestly thought at one time that we could just live with cell phones and cancel our regular phone. I clearly wasn’t in my right mind in thinking this way. Number one: the cell phones cost us if we go over our allotted number of hours each month. Number two: we have a teenage boy who stays on the phone for about three hours each night. He likes to play the piano for his girlfriend and video games for his guy friends. He’s about to go out of his mind and drive us out of ours not being able to talk to anyone. I will keep you updated if there are any new developments. If you have been trying to call me and the line has been busy, now you know the story.
*UPDATE*
Kevin got in touch with the phone company. They said that they have a work order for us which means that they will be coming to our house. The only bad thing is that they won’t be coming until tomorrow between 8AM and 12PM. I guess we should be thankful that they are coming this week, huh?!

I hate dealing with the phone company - hope they get you all straightened around in the morning. Thank GOD you don't dial-up to the web, huh? That would put me over the edge, LOL.
