Keeping Up Appearances
Last night we went to Gatti Town for dinner. Andrew and Ashley played some games and rode the bumper cars. After that, we went to the Lexington Ice Center and played 18 holes of miniature golf. I think we?ve spent any extra money that we had for a while!
Tonight the couple from our church that we spent Memorial Day with came to our house for a cook out. We ate hamburgers and hotdogs and then we taught them how to play the card game Skip-Bo. I think we enjoyed talking just as much if not more than playing cards. After playing one hand, we let Ashley and their son ride their bikes out front. This gave us plenty of time for more talking. They said that they really liked strawberries, so Kevin made strawberry shortcakes.
This was the first time that we had another family over that wasn?t family or a neighbor. We?ve been married for a long, long time. I guess it?s about time we had some friends!

After the nightmare of dinner parties and garden parties over the last week, I know where you are coming from. I dread it but when its here I absolutely adore it. We are not fortunate to have family here so friends become all important. Enjoy your holiday. Whoops, almost forgot; have you tried Perudo? It's a brilliant 'after-dinner' game.

I've never heard of Perudo, but will have to investigate it.

We used to have people over quite a bit, but then we got out of the habit, save a few close friends. I guess the cutback occurred when I quit working and somehow got less housework done than when we both worked full-time! There's too much time to get distracted and put off cleaning now, I guess!
