Want to know a dirty little secret about me? The water conservationists will have a fit.
I have a bad habit of washing a load of clothes and then forgetting that they are in the washer for several days. So by the time I do remember them and go to put them in the dryer they have a mildewed smell and I have to wash them all over again. As a result I end up using double the water and detergent that was really needed. Okay, you can boo me now.

I do that *all* the time. Nothing's actually mildew-stained, but I've had plenty of clothes go through the whole two or even three wash cycle. I always breath a little easier when it's loads with which I've used chlorine bleach, because that gives me a little buffer. ;)

I've never had a mildew stain, but the smell can be funky! I am playing catch-up right now :)

Oh, and if you slack and try to just dry a load without really getting it clean again (sometimes two cycles- you ladies know what I'm sayin'), it can take forever to figure out which clothes in the closet are causing the whole thing to stink. Been there, done that, never again!
