VBS Finale

Tonight was the VBS finale. The kids came together and sang the songs they had learned and quoted the Bible verses that they memorized. After the service we all met out back at the pavilion to have watermelon, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies.

The picture below shows a tall container full of beach balls. There was another one this same size. This is how they kept track of the offering each night. One container was for the boys and the other was for the girls. Each ball represented $5.00. They raised a total of $2,000 that will be sent to the Jamaica mission house. However, since the girls brought in the most money one of the guys got a pie in the face tonight. They gave away new bikes to one girl and one boy whose names were drawn from a hat. Also, every child that was present tonight got a beach ball to take home.

VBS can be such a blast. Around here, seems like every church is doing "Lava Lava Island", or something like that.

About 98% of the churches here in town did Lava Lava Island. Ours was called "Power Up". It was a get fit for Jesus kind of thing.
