Smell The Life!
It’s November 19th and I put on a pair of shorts this afternoon! I can’t remember very many November’s when I was able to wear shorts, but I’m glad.
I caved in today and am getting Juno Internet for $9.95 a month. Want to know why? Well, the free service only allows you to have 10 free hours of service per month. When I logged on today I was told that my 10 hours were up for the month. Now you know that I couldn’t live without visiting blogs and updating my own blog for another two weeks. I would have gone insane! I came to the conclusion that $9.95 is worth it to get the Internet. Hey, it’s still way cheaper than what we were paying!
I can hardly wait until tomorrow. I plan to go to one of my very favorite places. It’s a place filled with used books, magazines, records, CD’s, and video tapes. I mainly stick to looking through the books, but I love it all. I love being around books, but I especially love the smell of an old book. Some people would think I was crazy, but the first thing that I do when I buy a good old book is to open it up and stick my nose right up between the pages. It excites me just thinking about it! Ah, until tomorrow …

I'm the same way! I love the smell of old books. Musty ones sometimes make me cough, but I'm a glutton for punishment. ;)

Sorry to be the odd-one-out but I hate old books! I love a brand new book and can't stand the thought of someone else having read the book on the loo, at the dinner table, in bed, sneezed all over it... Or are we talking about antique books here, if so that's a slightly different matter?

Oooh, didn't theu go to the loo in the old days? I suppose they didn't have electricity so they wouldn't have read the books whilst ensconced!! Interesting way to judge a second hand book - will someone have read this on the loo!!

This is reminding me of that Seinfeld episode! Remember the "bathroom book"? George couldn't return it (or had to buy it?) because he took it in the bathroom at the store.

I really miss all the old book shops we used to visit regularly when we lived in Boston. We have an occasional used book store try to open here in Alabama, but they never seem to last very long. Ahh for stacks of old books again!!
