I'm salivating, and I can't even read the titles!
I'm reading "The Plague Tales" by Ann Benson. It goes back and forth between the 1300's and 2005, and the parallel stories of bubonic plague epidemics in two very different environments. It's interesting to see what trained doctors assumed about medicine back in the middle ages, and how even with futuristic technology (the book was published in 1997, so 2005 was futuristic), mankind is thrown on its back when the plague rears its head again. It's SO good!
