Monopoly

Our first official family game day began on Friday. We played Monopoly.

It had been a while since we had played and I was excited! That excitement dissipated some when I realized that all properties had been bought and I only owned four of them. That’s not so good.

At least I wasn’t the first one out. After about an hour and a half Andrew was bankrupt. After two hours, I followed suit. Andrew and I left the house as he had an appointment and when we got back home, they were still fighting it out. After four long hours, Ashley, the EIGHT YEAR OLD, beat us ALL in Monopoly. We should be ashamed!

Here is the big winner:

You can see all the $500 and $100 bills in her hands that she ended up earning not including the 50’s, 20’s, 10’s, 5’s, and 1’s. She had property and hotels everywhere. It is really sad.

We're going to have to start calling Ashley "Miss Trump"! I've never gotten into Monopoly. It could be that I was an only child and the only games I recall playing when I was little were blackjack and checkers. Plus, it's such a loooooong game and complicated. I like card games and word games best. Howie LOVES Monopoly, though, and wishes I liked it.

It must be those lucky specs. Have you got that pool up and running yet for the holidays?

Are you good at draughts too?

Lynne: we are working on the pool a little bit all this week. We hope to add chemicals on Friday!
Miss L: Is Draughts the name of a game?? If so, I have never heard of it. Tell me about it.

I looked up Draughts on ebay and it looks like Checkers to me.
