My Yard
If I do say so myself, our yard looks beautiful. Yesterday was a yard workday. We trimmed the tree and bushes, cleaned out the gutters, swept the sidewalk, and mowed the yard. It was a lot of work, but well worth it from the looks of it now.
The neighbors think that we are odd for sitting under the weeping willow tree, which is in the front yard. They give us looks and one of them even asked, “You still hiding under that tree?”
“Yes,” I replied, “We are.”
Maybe they feel spied upon since they can’t get a clear view of us from under there. It really doesn’t bother me though and I won’t be deterred.
I thoroughly enjoy being out there. It’s shady and always cool and it’s nice the way the branches sway back and forth. They just don’t know what they’re missing!

My neighborhood is on a painting frenzie....my sister paited her house, the people across the street painted thiers, others are just painting the concrete foundation....i guess we'll have a paint party and do ours the weekend of the 4th of July.

When I was growing up, our next-door neighbor had a huge old willow in their front yard. I loved sitting under it and playing with the whips when I was a girl. I'd sit under yours, too!

There's nothing quite like a den, especially one where you can people watch from.

I thought of you and your willow tree a couple days ago, Tami. Our forsythia out back is doing really well, and the gracefully arching branches remind me of your willow. There are a couple spots beneath them where I will have to crawl in and sit sometime. :)
