Plates

In yesterday’s comments, Stacey asked about my plate and I told her it was Fiestaware. You can find a large selection HERE.

I think it’s beautiful when I have a lot of people over for dinner and the table is filled with color. I also like Fiestaware because it is sturdy and thick. Washing a thin plate makes me nervous!

Here are the colors I have:

As you can see, the spring colored plates are on top, very shortly I will switch them around and have the darker colors on top for the fall. That way, when I grab four plates for dinner, they are all fall colored.

That may seem silly to some people, but color matters to me and can have a great effect on my mood.

I love the array of colors. I don't think it's silly at all to use different colored dishes to go along with the seasons. I use the same plates year round, and have for several years, and it gets boring. I've been wanting to buy new dishes for a while..I may have to order some of these.

You're a smart one, organizing your plates by season. I love Fiestaware and other colorful stoneware, but they take up so much space and are so heavy. I have Corelle dishes, a simple white with a thin blue line around the edge. You make me want to get some stoneware now, though.
