The War of the Hanger

I am aware that everyone has something that can set him off. For example, certain behaviors can drive a person crazy. Someone cracking his knuckles, nails on a chalkboard, a fork against an empty plate – these sounds can be very annoying.

But, there is a thing, an item, that can drive me crazy if I let it. That thing is a coat hanger. Yes, the common coat hanger can whip me into a fury. Whether it’s plastic, metal, or wood; when hangers get tangled together it makes me want to scream.

There’s nothing worse than having a handful of clothes in hand ready to hang and then not being able to separate the clothes in the closet because the hangers are tangled. Or, innocently going to the closet and trying to pull a hanger out and then finding it is wrapped around five other hangers. This can make me stand there, pull with all my might, jiggle the hanger around up and down, in and out while my mouth is formed in a mean snarl. It’s literally a temper tantrum of sorts. Mind you, at that point I’m not doing one bit of good to loosen the hanger. I’m sure if anyone saw this behavior, they would think I was crazy.

I have to breathe. I have to say to myself, Tami, you need to go slow and work the hanger out. Gentle maneuvering always does the trick. It’s sad that I can’t always remember this!

I tried to leave a comment earlier, but for some reason, it didn't show up.
Anyway, I hear you on the hanger thing. I hate the plastic ones, they are always snapping and breaking over here.
In response to your comment on my blog, I've never made the peppermint bark before, so I don't know how easy it is to make. I will let you know how it turns out.
