Bought & Donated Books

Mom is back in the hospital and will receive her first round of chemo tonight. They said she should get to come home on Wednesday if everything goes all right.

I went to eCampus today and bought my history book. I bought my math book from Amazon. Since Kevin is a Professor, I get six free hours a semester. I figured it was time I took something. I should have taken them up on this offer long ago, but I am so afraid of failure, it keeps me from doing a lot. I will let you know how these classes go.

The good thing about both of them is that they are online. I will have to go in to take the math final, but that’s okay. Too bad the school doesn’t pay for books too ;) Yes; I can be a greedy Pete. I think I learned that expression – greedy Pete - from Norman. He totally cracks me up.

I also donated a ton of mom’s old magazines and some of her books and our books to the Book Cellar. She had kept old Reader’s Digest magazines for years in the attic. My theory is, if it’s in the attic or in storage for over two or three years, you probably don’t need it.

I think you will do great in your history and math courses.

I am so happy you decided to take some classes. Don't worry about them being online, I stressed about that at first, but did great in them. It's nice because you can do them at your own time. Let me know what else you are taking and I can give you the names of my teachers, they were so nice.

Also, check for your books on Amazon. I got three books for like $45 (shipping included) and sold one of them for $15 to the college bookstore. They are the cheapest place I have found.

No kidding about not needing things in storage. We helped some friends move about a month ago, and we packed up their house into one of those big moving trucks, took it to their new place, unpacked and thought we were done. Then we were informed of all the crap in the basement. It was another entire tuck load! This is stuff they haven't unboxed since high school! They keep moving it with them from house to house. Insanity! I told them I will move it once, but next time they move, I'm not touching any boxes that haven't been opened in the past year. LOL! Ian and I have an agreement that we may both keep one keepsake box. That's it. One!

In the end, working online becomes great fun, especially if you have a group chat site. You can learn a lot from others when you get over the first hurdly of joining in with the conversations. Enjoy it!
