Some Pretty Things
Before visiting mom in the hospital, we visited with Kevin’s mom. She fell down some steps and broke her wrist. She was supposed to have surgery yesterday to set it, however when the medication was administered, it caused her to have three seizures.
She is now scheduled to have the surgery this coming Wednesday. I feel so sorry for her. I can’t imagine the pain she must be experiencing.

I have had two of these plants – I can’t remember the name - but both died. I have no idea why.
This pretty purple flower is on a vine:
Their yard is full of color and looks professionally cared for, but they do all the work themselves. I can barely remember to water mine.

Those are, in order, elephant ears, hibiscus and clematis. If it's the elephant ears that died under your watch, it could be they didn't get enough water. They like lots of water; in tropical climates, they grow right in swamps. Their gardens look beautiful with those combinations.

Meant to add that Kevin's mom is in my prayers. I'm sorry she had those seizures and they couldn't continue with her surgery. I hope they're keeping her very drugged up for that pain!

GW, it was the hibiscus that died. I admit that I didn't water it. I always assumed that they would live off the soil and sun somehow without my help. I guess that is not so in this case!

Will her surgery at least by at UK so you aren't running between two hospitals this week? My flowers are just about dead, i water then every night, but it just doesn't seem to be enough! I'm so happy it's raining today, it may not last long, but I'll take what I can get!

My garden is starting to look a little raggedy now. You can definitely feel autumn is on the way here; some of the trees on our road have already lost their leaves!

Deanna, Kevin’s mom’s surgery is outpatient. Lord forbid they keep anyone overnight for observation anymore!
