Poppy Seed
I had a much better day today. I didn’t actually cry at all and only came close to crying about three times.
I spent the afternoon with my mom and Andrew’s girlfriend. I want her to do something with us this weekend whether it be shopping, going to a movie, or playing a game. We don’t know her as well as we would like to, so I believe we will get closer while Andrew is away.
While we were at mom’s house, she made mini loaves of poppy seed bread. That stuff is evil. I brought a loaf home and the entire thing is already gone. I won’t say who ate it all, but just know it wasn’t me!
Mom found out she has to be over at UK on Saturday. They want to take a blood sample to see if she is low on platelets. Although they are doing what is in her best interest, I believe she is tiring of the whole process. She has had so much to cope with. It would be nice if she could have some relief for a while.
Switching gears, I saw this colorful combination as Ashley sat at the kitchen table and couldn’t wait to take a photo:

I do love colors!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better. It will get easier, I'm sure! You're good at finding beauty and focusing on the positive things that are around you. Keep it up :)

One day at a time, and don't forget to listen to Ashley - kids often have a far better take on life than we give them credit for. (That sounds as if I am telling you what to do - I'm not, I just know that my children gave me tremendous support when I learned to listen to them - took me many years though!)

It sounds like you had a pretty good day...I'm glad. Poppy seed bread sounds delicious. I like to make different types of bread, my two favorites being apple butter bread and pumpkin bread. I love Ashley's bracelets, they are so pretty!
I'm so happy that your mom seems to be doing better. I can only imagine how tired she must be of running to the hospital. It would get irritating, even though it's what she needs.

Ohhhh, all the breads sound good. Caribou has a lemon poppyseed bread, but it is deadly calories - and so high in fats. Yie. I steer clear of that one, good as it is.

I'm glad to hear you did not finish the loaf. We have really good bread store a few doors down from the office and it can be very tempting to get some of the sweet breads they offer. I usually get a whole grain wheat or something to that effect.
Glad you are getting to spend time with your mom. That most really be hard.
