The Best Christmas Present
I received the best Christmas present this afternoon.
Andrew called.
He had ten minutes to talk. He spoke for a minute with his Papaw and then another minute with his dad and then spent the rest of his time talking to me. He said to me, "This is your phone call." When he said that, my heart swelled and my chest puffed up a bit!
He said they got to watch the movie Man on Fire yesterday and it was really good.
Today he said they had turkey and dressing to eat. He said they truly give you plenty to eat every day and it tastes good.
He has received all of our mail.
His voice was hoarse, but gosh it was good to hear from him. He only has 23 days left.
Ten minutes sure go by fast when it’s been months since you’ve talked and you want to know everything, but at the same time just say I love you.
